Young Amy was shattered by the terrible tragedy that changed her life forever. Now widowed, how is she supposed to raise a young son on her own? She finds herself employed at Green Gables, the local 'nuthouse', as it is jokingly called in their small North Carolina community. The old mansion is filled with the elderly and mental patients. A new boss eventually arrives on the scene and sparks fly between the two. Yet, they keep their feelings concealed. Jackson is fighting his own set of demons with an unbalanced wife. Being a southern gentleman, he cannot declare his love until his divorce is final. Can he be the one to make Amy's life complete once again? Will he be her hero?

There is a real sincerity in this work which makes it compelling. I got the sense that I was reading the private diary of a young woman detailing her crushes. This was almost a voyeuristic feeling, which was a good kind of tension for a romantic type novel like this. The story is of a woman who loses her husband at a very young age. She was raised in the absence of her mother by a well-meaning father who didn't quite know how to relate to her. When her husband passes, she is caught up in a whirlwind of emotions which lead to some complicated scenarios.

Most people probably wish that they could fall in love with their high school sweetheart and then raise a family in a situation of love and harmony. However, that eventuality rarely comes to pass. In the real world, you lose love ones, or you get involved with people who are already in committed relationships. Sometimes bad choices are made. Do those bad choices make you a bad person? Or are our social expectations brought on by the dream of the idyllic relationship unrealistic?

I think these are the type of questions you'll ask yourself as you read "Forever in My Heart." It's a quick and enjoyable read, and I believe most people will identify with the characters and scenarios depicted within.

Those who know me, gift me with books since the love of my life reads historial, non-fiction, and deep, mensa type literary fiction. I'm a chick-lit, romance lover who had heard of Ms McClatchey, but never read her work.

Wow, this was one fast read and I enjoyed every minute of it as this author has a great turn of phrase that keeps you reading!

Forever In My Heart takes readers through the trials of young Amy as she gets knocked down in her life by the death of her equally young husband. She eventually finds a job, and what do you know? She and the new handsome boss, Jackson quickly find a connection. Unfortunately he's got a wife, and said wife is a bitch on wheels to boot.

Jackson had been contemplating divorce for awhile, but with his newfound feelings of love growing for Amy, he finally has the gumption to do something about it. But it's not that easy, and this is where the actions kicks in.

Twists and turns thrown in cause turmoil and near tragedy in this tale with a bit of steam, sadness and triumph. Deobrah McClatchey has penned an enjoyable story that flows as it 'leads you down the road' to the fulfilling end. I highly recommend this to romance readers who enjoy an unusual read that encompasses real life problems that often accompany love, but also resolves these issues within and doesn't leave you hanging at the end.

I loved it and asked my friend to send over another of her novels - since it's my birthday next week. Looking forward to another romance written by Ms McClatchey.
Very good book by Deborah McCatchey has written this great gem, Forever In My Heart.

I'm a guy and I enjoy reading romance novels. This book is very unique and unlike the rest of the common theme books out there.

Worth the read.
An emotionally charged and well written book that was hard to put down. Difficult to ignore the great writing style and good plot. A good read for sure.
I enjoyed reading about Amy's friendship with Jackson. Amy lost her husband and had a hard time coping. Now our heroine is a young widow with a son. She is hired by a mental facility and her heart is swept away by her boss, who just happens to be married. This was such an emotional read and I really connected with the characters. Awesome story!
Imagine being a young widow, trying to raise a child. Poor Amy Tyler is in this situation. Her first priority is taking care of her child Tad but she is also lonely. While working at the local mental institution, she meets Jackson Sinclair. There are complications preventing them from pursuing their relationship, which I won’t divulge. You need to read this wonderful and ultimately uplifting romance.
Forever in My Heart is a wonderful story. It really appealed to my emotions and the compassion I felt for Amy as she was faced with the tragedy of loosing her husband. It was hard for young Amy, who has led a sheltered life, to cope. She goes through some dreadful experiences on her journey to grow stronger. An unexpected romance lifts her spirit, but not without problems. Will their love last as they try to conquer the many obstacles they face? I was given this book as a gift and I can highly recommend it as a great read for romance lovers.
Forever in My Heart is a lovely, emotional, romantic and compelling story with true-to-life dimension. Amy is a young widow with a young boy who finds a job in a mental facility and immediately falls in love with a married man, nonetheless her boss. The story is captivating, a bit steamy, and tragic and reaches dee into the emotions of the reader. The characters are true-to-life with great depth and the story has quite a few unexpected twists and turns that keep the reader turning pages deep into the night.

A compelling, true to life read that is extraordinarily well done. I recommend highly.
